FAQs | Si photodiode arrays with amplifier

Sensitivity of the pixels at both ends of photodiode arrays with phosphor sheet and amplifier seems to be low. Why?

Light emitted in the phosphor sheet on a pixel not only enters that pixel but also spreads to the adjacent pixels because the phosphor sheet is thick (300 µm). This means that the pixels in the middle of the sensor receive light from both right and left sides, but the pixels at both ends of the sensor receive light only from one side and so produces a lower output. To cope with this, we recommend correcting the output by software after acquiring the data.
