Hamamatsu, Japan – February 19, 2009 – Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has developed a new high-speed and high-resolution dual-energy X-ray line scan camera that can be used to effectively differentiate materials in a variety of nondestructive testing applications. The C10800 includes two rows of sensors that are sensitive to different energy regions, which allows the details of materials to also be captured at a comparatively low-energy region of less than 80 kV. The new device is ideal for waste sorting, baggage inspection, food inspection, and many other applications.
Samples of the C10800 will be available to Japan-based and international manufacturers of inspection equipment from March 10. Prior to sample release, the C10800 will be exhibited at the company's Photon Fair 2009 event from February 26 to 28 at the ACT City Hamamatsu convention center.
