Featured new products

NIR-enhanced silicon photomultipliers (SiPM or MPPC)


Multi-Pixel Photon Counters (MPPC), Hamamatsu’s brand of silicon photomultipliers (SiPM), are low light detectors. Our current lineup features high sensitivity to UV-VIS wavelengths, and we’ll soon offer silicon photomultipliers with higher PDE (photon detection efficiency) at 905 nm. For more info about these new NIR-enhanced SiPM, please attend our conference presentation on January 31 at 11:20 AM (title: Development of new MPPC with higher NIR sensitivity and wider dynamic range).

MEMS mirrors


Our MEMS mirrors are scanning micromirrors that feature wide optical scanning angles, high mirror reflectivity, and low power consumption. They are driven by magnetic actuators, so they are smaller, require lower voltages, and consume less power than electrostatic or piezoelectric driven mirrors. We’re expanding our MEMS mirror lineup in 2017, so visit our booth to get a sneak peek at the new MEMS mirrors or contact us for more info.

LCOS-SLM spatial light modulators


The LCOS-SLM is a reflection-type spatial light modulator that modulates the phase of a light beam as needed. We offer a variety of LCOS-SLMs, including models for end users and for OEMs. The new additions to the lineup will include a high-speed LCOS-SLM and an LCOS-SLM with a heat sink. InAsSb detectors


InAsSb (indium arsenide antimonide) photovoltaic detectors are mid-infrared detectors with high-speed response. In addition, they are RoHS compliant, which is an advantage over traditional MCT (mercury cadmium telluride) detectors. We currently offer InAsSb photovoltaic detectors that cover the mid-IR range up to 8 μm, and a new addition to the lineup will have sensitivity up to 10 μm. Mid-infrared LEDs


LEDs fabricated from InAsSb (indium arsenide antimonide) semiconductor material offer emission at mid-infrared wavelengths. Other features include high output power, low power consumption, and RoHS compliance. We currently offer a 4.3 μm LED, and we’re adding 3.3 μm and 3.9 μm LEDs to the lineup in 2017. Compact xenon flash lamp modules


Xenon flash lamp modules contain a xenon flash lamp, power supply, and trigger socket. They offer a wide emission range from UV to IR, high stability, and long service life. Our product lineup now includes compact 2-Watt modules, which are offered with housing (L13651 series) or as bare-board modules (L13821 series). The bare-board modules are customizable.

CMOS board cameras for OEMs


We offer standard and customized board cameras for OEMs. Soon we’ll be adding several CMOS cameras with global shutter to our OEM camera lineup. These new cameras feature a CMOS sensor with 3, 5, or 12 megapixels and a pixel size of 3.45 µm x 3.45 µm. Please contact us for more info.

ORCA-Flash4.0 V3 sCMOS camera


Our most advanced scientific CMOS camera to date, the new ORCA-Flash4.0 V3 builds on the features of its predecessor (the ORCA-Flash4.0 V2). Its new features include on-board FPGA processing; highly refined in-camera, pixel-level calibrations; increased USB 3.0 frame rates; innovative triggering capabilities; patented lightsheet readout modes; and individual camera noise characterization.

W-VIEW GEMINI-2C image splitting optics


The new W-VIEW GEMINI-2C is the first dual camera, dual channel system engineered with super-resolution quality, while simultaneously offering versatility, expandability, and ease of use. With the W-VIEW GEMINI-2C in their microscope systems, researchers are free to explore a variety of advanced imaging methods including 3D imaging (using Double Helix, astigmatism, or biplane methods), hyperspectral imaging, polarization imaging, and extended depth of field imaging.

Distance sensors

Hybrid devices (APD + TIA)


Our new hybrid devices combine a silicon avalanche photodiode (Si APD) and a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) in one package. In addition, they have a built-in DC feedback circuit that prevents saturation of the detector due to strong ambient light.

Photo IC for rangefinders


The S13021-01CT photo IC integrates a CMOS sensor and a signal processing circuit in one package. Designed for rangefinders, it has peak sensitivity at 800 nm and measures distance using an indirect time-of-flight method.

CMOS image sensors


CMOS image sensors feature a wide spectral response from UV to NIR and low power consumption. Our linear sensors are suitable for spectroscopy, barcode scanning, and other applications. We’ll soon be offering CMOS area sensors in VGA, QVGA, and SXGA formats.

InGaAs image sensors


Our InGaAs image sensors are sensitive to NIR wavelengths from approximately 0.9 μm to 2.6 μm. Example applications include NIR spectroscopy, nondestructive testing, thermal imaging, laser beam profiling, and more.

Spectrometers

MEMS-FPI spectrum sensors


MEMS-FPI sensors are compact devices for measuring NIR spectra within the 1.55 – 1.85 μm range. They consist of an InGaAs PIN photodiode and a miniature, MEMS-based Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) that acts as a tunable wavelength filter.

Micro-spectrometers


Our micro-spectrometers are UV-VIS-NIR spectrometers the size of a fingertip. Their miniature components, a grating chip and a CMOS image sensor chip, are fabricated using MEMS processes. Due to their small size, micro-spectrometers can be easily integrated into compact devices for spectral measurements.

Thin and flat mini-spectrometers


Our TF series of mini-spectrometers are thinner and flatter than our previous mini-spectrometers, and they contain a high-sensitivity CMOS sensor, optics, grating, and driver circuit. They are available in a variety of spectral response ranges.

SERS (surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy) detection module


The C13560 SERS detection module has a 785 nm laser diode, a CMOS sensor, and optics. When combined with the J13856 SERS substrate, the C13560 can measure Raman spectra within the 400 - 1850 wavenumbers range.

Portable Raman spectrometer module


The C12710 Raman spectrometer module has two power modes for both normal Raman and SERS (surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy) measurements. The C12710 has a built-in 785 nm laser diode, is sensitive to 400 - 1850 wavenumbers, and can be connected to mobile devices.

Board cameras for OEMs


We currently offer standard board cameras with an sCMOS or TDI-CCD sensor, and soon we’ll add CMOS board cameras to our lineup. We can also design and manufacture customized cameras based on your requirements for sensor type, cooling, packaging, interface, and software.

ORCA-spark CMOS camera


The ORCA-spark digital CMOS camera features a 2.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, global shutter, and fast frame rate (65 fps). It also has a low readout noise, wide dynamic range, and a USB 3.0 interface.

InGaAs cameras


InGaAs cameras feature high sensitivity in the near-infrared region, and are suitable for various applications including solar cell evaluation, semiconductor failure analysis, and EL/PL image acquisition. We offer several types including cameras with VGA and QVGA pixel formats.

Light sources

Quantum cascade lasers (QCL)


QCLs are compact and lightweight semiconductor lasers that emit a narrow spectral bandwidth within the mid-infrared range, from 4 μm to 10 μm. Example applications include trace gas analysis and IR spectroscopy.

Pulsed laser diodes (PLD)


Pulsed laser diodes feature high peak power under pulsed operation. We currently offer PLDs that emit at 870 nm or 905 nm, and they are suitable for distance measurements, security monitoring, and other applications.

Xenon flash lamp modules


These light sources contain a xenon flash lamp, power supply, and trigger socket. They offer a wide emission range from UV to IR, high stability, and long service life. They are suitable light sources for analytical instruments and as strobe lighting for factory automation, for example.

UVCL deep UV light source


The UVCL deep UV light sources are compact and easily installed into instruments and equipment. They offer peak emission at 265 nm or 305 nm, and are suitable for fluorescence analysis, UV curing, and environmental analysis.

Our compact fiber light sources feature a spectral emission from 200 nm to 1600 nm, high stability, and low voltage operation. They are suitable light sources for analytical instruments, film thickness measurement systems, and semiconductor inspection systems.
