Phototubes are photodetectors widely utilized in applications such as chemical and medical analysis and laser measurement. Phototubes have virtually no fluctuation in signal output even if the ambient temperature varies and offer a large photosensitive area compared to semiconductor detectors. Also available are biplanar phototubes capable of reproducing ultra-short pulsed light signals with high accuracy.
