当社の国内営業(営業本部 国内統括部)は、地域密着型の営業体制を取っており、拠点とする各営業所によって担当エリアが分かれます。私は、主に大阪、兵庫、和歌山、島根、鳥取などのお客様を担当しています。私の所属する営業所には他にも京滋北陸地区や、四国地区を担当する営業もおり、関西圏ならではの活気あふれる職場となっています。大阪地区のお客様は医療機器メーカや産業用装置メーカが多く、京都地区になりますと分析機器メーカが多くなりますので、地区により業界の特色があります。私は医療装置メーカをはじめ、約100社程度のお客様を担当しております。例えば医療装置では、血液検査装置や尿検査装置の検出部に使用されるセンサなど販売しており、年間数億円の取引をさせていただいているお客様もおります。
当社はお客様向けのカスタム品(特注品)比率が高く、私が担当するお客様の6割程度がカスタム品となります。お客様向けの製品割合が多いということは、お客様の要望に対して、細かく応えることができている結果だと思います。また、製品ごとの売上の偏りがあまりありませんし、通常品とカスタム品の売上のバランスが良いことが安定した売上に繋がっていると思います。
私が推した製品をお客様に購入していただけることが、営業冥利に尽きます。お客様からの要望に対して、本当に最適な製品は何なのか?をしっかりと見極め、お客様に喜んでいただける製品提案を常に心がけています。製品の特性面で納得いただくことはもちろんですが、「山添が言うなら買っても良い」とお客様に言っていただける信頼関係を構築していきたいです。
この仕事で苦労することは、当社は製品種類が多岐に及ぶ(当社の製品点数は約2万品種もあります)ため、製品に応じた販売価格設定の感覚が難しい点です。ケースバイケースでアプローチの仕方を考え、お客様に満足いただけるような答えを導き出すことが出来たときはとてもやりがいを感じます。仕事を進めるうえでは、上司や先輩と密に報告、連絡、相談をするようにしています。営業の仕事は孤独に思われがちですが、チームで考えて対応していくことで、自分一人では思いつかないようなアイディアが生まれることもありますので、営業はチームプレーが大切だと思います。
担当製品が多いため、もちろん不得意な分野もありますが、苦手分野であろうと積極的にお客様と直接お話をするようにしています。分からないことがあれば、営業所内に各事業部製品に対して詳しい先輩がいますし、もちろん事業部の製造担当者にも聞きやすい環境ですので、細かなフォローをしていきやすい体制が整っていると感じています。自分一人の知識で足りなければ積極的に回りを巻き込むことで、いち早くお客様の要望を満たしていくことが、未知未踏を追求する当社の営業に求められるスタイルだと思っています。
将来的には、より多くの製品知識を身に着け、幅広い仕事をしていきたいです。大袈裟かもしれませんが、営業の道を極め、営業本部を背負って立つ人間になりたいと本気で思っています。
営業所のテーマでもありますが、見積作成等の細かな一つ一つの事務処理についても、営業所内のアシスタントとも連携が取れていることで、お客様の要望に対して「スピード感」のある対応が出来ていると思います。
あと個人的には、「大きな声を出す」「自信を持つ」「良い意味でアホになる」という3点も常に心掛けています。
