このような経営理念の下での企業活動にあたり、当社では法令及びその精神を遵守するとともに高い倫理観と責任感をもって行動し、社会から信頼と共感を得るべく企業行動規範を制定しております。企業行動規範では、「取引に際して相互の知的財産権を尊重すること」を明記しておりますように、知的財産活動においても、他者の知的財産権を尊重し、侵害することがないように努め、適切な対応を致します。
一方で、当社の高品質な製品を安定的に供給することを妨げる行為には、知的財産権を活用し適切でかつ正当な対応を致します。
浜松ホトニクスグループでは、この考え方に基づいて知的財産活動をしております。
事業部、研究所毎に案件を担当する知的財産部員を割り当て、夫々の研究・開発の成果を事業部門、研究部門と協働して出願権利化を図る体制を整えています。発明発掘~出願~権利化までを同じ知的財産部員が担当する、もしくは知的財産部の同じチームで担当することで、出願~権利化までを継続的に支援し、開発状況、市場動向、他者特許状況を十分把握した上で、事業を取り巻く状況に応じて有効な権利を得るようにしています。そして、有効な権利を侵害する行為に対して適切、かつ正当に権利を行使します。
他者特許への対策・対応についても、関連する事業部門を担当する知的財産部員を中心としたチームで担当することで、事業を取り巻く状況に応じた最適な対応をするようにしています。
また国内に出願した案件の70 %程度は、事業を展開する国等を含む外国でも出願・権利化を図ることで、事業を支援するよう努め、図1に示すように世界中で毎期700件前後、75期(2021年10月1日~2022年9月30日)は738件の知的財産権を取得しました。その結果、2022年9月30日現在で図2に示すように全世界で8160件の知的財産権を保有しています。その内訳は図3に示すように、日本32%、米国20%、欧州(英独仏その他)25%、アジア(中、韓、台)23%で、各地域の売上比率に応じた構成に近くなっています。

保有する知的財産権(特許、実用新案、意匠)は図4に示すように、電子管事業31%、光半導体事業34%、画像計測機器事業14%、レーザ事業等の新規事業を含むその他が21%となっており、保有する知的財産権の約8割で現在売上を牽引する事業を保護し、残りの約2割で将来売り上げが期待されている新規事業に関わる技術の保護に努めています。
