H7422シリーズは、GaAsP/GaAs光電面のメタルパッケージ光電子増倍管に電子冷却素子を取り付け、高圧電源回路を内蔵した光センサモジュールです。電子冷却素子を光電子増倍管の近傍へ配置したことで効率良い冷却を実現、光電面から出るサーマルノイズを低減して微弱光領域で高いSN特性が得られます。 H7422-40シリーズは、300 nm ～ 740 nmの波長域で高い感度を有します。H7422-50シリーズは、380 nm ～ 920 nmの広い波長範囲に感度を有します。光電子増倍管の近くにサーミスタを取り付けており、この出力をモニターし電子冷却素子への電流を制御することで、光電子増倍管の温度を一定に保つことができます。
H7422-40/-50、H7422P-40/-50シリーズは電流出力が設定された電流値(約10 µA)を超えた場合、自動的に高電圧をオフにして過大光からPMTモジュールを保護する機能を有しています。本保護回路は短時間であっても電流値が設定値を超えると動作致します。レーザスキャニング顕微鏡のような用途では、出力電流が一瞬保護回路の設定電流値を超えることがありますが、この場合も保護回路が動作し、計測が中断されてしまう事になります。その様な用途でお使い頂くお客様で平均電流値が最大定格電流の2 µAよりも低い場合には、瞬間的に発生する大きな出力に対しても高電圧をオフすることなく動作させる為に保護回路の設定電流値を約50 µAへ変更したH7422A-40/-50、H7422PA-40/-50シリーズを準備しています。
