Optics module C16028-01

Optics module C16028-01 is an integratable optical module specialized for fluorescence detection applications such as PCR equipment. It includes high-stability LEDs for exciting fluorescent reagents, high-sensitivity Si photodiodes for detecting fluorescence, and optical systems and circuits optimized for fluorescence detection.
Two sets of independent optical systems are integrated, which allows measurement of two types of fluorescent reagents (FAM, ROX) with one module. It is also equipped with trigger input for independently controlling ON/OFF of each LED.
It combines compact size and high performance, and can be incorporated not only into PCR equipment but also other devices and equipment that require fluorescence detection. This shortens the design work of complex optical systems and enables fluorescence detection functions to be installed efficiently.

Structure

C16208-01 includes two sets of LEDs, Si photodiodes, optical systems, and circuits. It achieves miniaturization by integrating excitation light and fluorescence into the same optical system. In addition, it supports simultaneous detection of two types of fluorescent reagents by temporally dividing the light emission and reception timing of CH1 and CH2.

Features

Capable of high sensitivity fluorescence detection

It can detect low-level light in sub-nano range. The adopted optical design is capable of efficiently taking the fluorescence into photosensitive area and is less susceptible to stray light. Further, circuits for suppressing noise are adopted.

Stable excitation light source

Built-in excitation LEDs with wavelengths of 470 nm and 590 nm are included.
In addition, it is equipped with APC (Automatic Power Control) function to control the output light level to be constantly fixed.
