About this Hotline

As part of our management philosophy, Hamamatsu Photonics Group aims to contribute to creation of new industry, making progress in science and technology, and realizing better society and healthier planet, through our effort to pursue the unknown and unexplored in the field of light.

As a foundation for realizing this management philosophy, we require each and every one of our group’s officers and employees to respect human rights and comply with relevant laws, regulations, international rules and its spirit, while considering what is a proper behavior as a member of the international community and acting with high ethical standards.

This Group Compliance Hotline is established to receive reports from officers and employees of Hamamatsu Group companies and those who are working at our business partners. We will detect and correct violations of laws/ regulations or misconducts, as well as any acts involving or leading to human rights violations by Hamamatsu Group’s officers and employees.

All reports will be responded sincerely. No person who makes a report in good faith will be treated unfavorable, and the content of the report will be treated as strictly confidential..

Every voice counts to make Hamamatsu Group better. Please use the Compliance Hotline if you know of any violations or misconducts described above or potential thereof.

Reportable issues

Following issues are reportable.

  • Illegal or inappropriate behavior regarding business conducted by Hamamatsu Group companies
  • Unreasonable demands by employees of Hamamatsu Group companies
  • Violations of common policies and guidelines of Hamamatsu Group, and Hamamatsu Photonics Group Code of Conduct etc
  • Any other acts of Hamamatsu Group employees which do not comply with applicable laws or regulations

 

It is prohibited to make a report based on unfounded information or knowingly making a false report.

Also, the following issues cannot be reported to the Compliance Hotline.

  • Dissatisfaction with personnel treatment such as salary or performance evaluations
  • Issues that have already been investigated in the past based on a report to the Compliance Hotline and have not seem any subsequent changes
  • Issues that is solely related to private life of a person and have no impact on Hamamatsu Group’s business
  • Issues reported based on personal grievance or defamation
  • Issues against the principle of the Compliance Hotline
  • Other issues that are not covered under any of the above listed matters

Protection of the reporters

  • No person or its workplace will be treated unfavorable by reporting to the Compliance Hotline.
  • Anonymous report is available.
  • The content of the report, the name of the reporter and other information that may lead to identification the reporter will be treated as strictly confidential.
