Fingertip sized, ultra-compact spectrometer head supporting high sensitivity


The C12880MA is a high-sensitivity, ultra-compact (fingertip sized) spectrometer head. The C12880MA supports the long wavelength region (up to 850 nm). This product is suitable for integration into a variety of compact devices.

Measurement example

Color measurement

A demonstration module with a built-in the mini-spectrometer Micro series was used to measure the spectrum of color sample. Because the Micro series is small, it can be mounted on various color measuring devices such as color adjustment of color printers and dimming of LED lighting.

Application examples


Besides a CMOS image sensor chip integrated with an optical slit by etching technology, the mini-spectrometer micro series employs a reflective concave  grating formed by nanoimprint. In addition, the glass used in the light path of the previous C10988MA-01 is not used in the mini-spectrometer micro series, making it extremely compact.
