Optical fiber communications using glass fibers are utilized for high-speed, large-capacity, and long-distance communications in trunk line networks and metro access networks.

Hamamatsu offers high-speed response photodetectors for use in transceivers in optical communication networks. In addition to photodiodes alone, we have a lineup of photodetectors with preamplifiers, receptacle-type and pigtail-type photodetectors, and can provide custom products to meet customer requirements.

These photodetectors are applied not only to transceivers but also to optical switches and light intensity/wavelength monitors.
