Keita Makita is a Product Manager at Hamamatsu Corporation, based in Bridgewater, New Jersey, where he leads initiatives in photomultiplier tube (PMT) technologies for applications including radiation detection, mass spectrometry, and oil well logging. With deep expertise in advanced optical technologies, Keita is currently at the forefront of promoting a groundbreaking innovation developed by Hamamatsu Photonics—a newly discovered physiological mechanism and proprietary algorithm that enables non-invasive blood glucose estimation using optical methods.

With nearly two decades of experience bridging science and industry, Keita brings a global perspective and a strong technical foundation to his work. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Science from Hiroshima City University in 2007.

Custom devices:

Featured products:

Spectrometer detector PMT module H15441-20

H15441-20 are comprised of a 6 ch multianode type photomultiplier tube, a high-voltage power supply circuit, and a optics module. It can be used for biomedical fluorescense measurement and flow cytometry.

SPAD modules

Fiber coupling type 1 ch SPAD module (for VIS to NIR region).

SPAD module C16534-050GD

Infrared detectors with band-pass filter P13243-015C/016CF

InAsSb photovoltaid detector P16702-011 MN

We have developed a new InAsSb photovoltaic detector with preamp offering high sensitivity to mid-infrared light, up to 11 μm in wavelength. It is an ideal choice for portable gas analyzers, laser monitors, and IR spectrometers.

Mini-spectrometer C12880MA

Fingertip sized, ultra-compact spectrometer head supporting high sensitivity and long wavelength region.

This series of InGaAs area image sensors offers high speed and high resolution with extended wavelength, making it perfect for hyperspectral imaging and plastic sorting. It features a hybrid structure, integrating a CMOS readout circuit with InGaAs photodiodes. Thanks to its newly designed ROIC and the implementation of a 3-stage thermoelectric cooling system, it can achieve a higher dynamic range and lower noise levels.

High-speed and compact near infrared spectrometer that can be incorporated into inline process.
