Hamamatsu Photonics, a global leader in imaging technology, is proud to announce the successful launch of its CDSCO certified NanoZoomer whole slide imaging scanners in India. Having received CDSCO approval in July 2025, this milestone highlights Hamamatsu’s ongoing commitment to advancing digital pathology and transforming diagnostic workflows across the country.
“We are thrilled to bring the CDSCO approved NanoZoomer scanners to India. This milestone underscores our commitment to global advancement of digital pathology and enhancing diagnostic workflows. With the NanoZoomer S360MD and NanoZoomer S20MD, Indian pathologists can now leverage cutting-edge technology to deliver faster, more accurate diagnostics, ultimately improving patient care and outcomes." - Martin Kristensson, Strategic Marketing Manager.
For Indian pathologists, this means faster, more accurate diagnostics, streamlined workflows, and enhanced capabilities for research and patient care.
The NanoZoomer S20MD was developed to provide clinical pathologists additional flexibility in their laboratory workflow. It completes the existing NanoZoomer line up, by offering a medium scale digital pathology routine, ideal for priority scanning during peak production.
This high-speed scanning whole slide scanner can scan approximately a slide every 30 seconds in 20× or 40× mode, allowing pathologists a leaner and more efficient workflow. Additionally, it gives them the possibility to work alongside their existing Sakura stainer and film coverslipper.
The NanoZoomer S20MD also offers excellent image quality as it is designed with the same pixel pathway as the high-throughput model, NanoZoomer S360MD.
Key Features of the NanoZoomer S20MD:
The NanoZoomer S360MD offers a 360-slide capacity with excellent image quality and high-speed scanning, ideal to support primary diagnosis applications.
This scanner can also scan approximately a slide every 30 seconds in 20× or 40× mode, allowing pathologists a leaner and more efficient workflow.
Key Features of the NanoZoomer S360MD:
The NanoZoomer S360MD and NanoZoomer S20MD scanners are equipped with advanced software solutions designed to enhance the digital pathology workflow. The software suite includes NZViewMD, and NZAcquireMD, all of which integrate seamlessly with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), HL7, and AI platforms.
These software solutions provide pathologists with a robust and efficient platform for managing digital slides, performing image analysis, and facilitating remote consultations.
Hamamatsu Photonics celebrates this milestone for Indian Diagnostics by attending the Asian Society of Digital Pathology Congress (ASDP) in October 2025. The NanoZoomer S360MD and NanoZoomer S20MD will be showcased live at ASDP for the first time since receiving the CDSCO approval. Find us at Stand 17, JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar on the 10th-12th October. Book your 1 to 1 demo slot here.
Behind the hardware and software, clinical customers will find trained specialists supporting them through the adoption of new workflows. In fact, trainings and technical support are in place to ensure a smooth transition whether it is integrating a new scanner model into their workflow or transforming from analogue to digital workflow.
Committed to the digital pathology market for over fifteen years, Hamamatsu Photonics is driven to offer the good quality solutions while complying with the latest medical regulations.
