Photonics Innovation Awards

Coher Sense

Award category: Advanced Feasibility 2025 Winner

Project: Compact laser multimeter

About the winner

Coher Sense is a technology company specializing in advanced fiber-optic sensors for laser measurement and analysis. Founded by a team of industry experts and researchers, the company focuses on simplifying complex photonics workflows and making precise laser diagnostics accessible to a wider range of users and applications.

The winning innovation

Coher Sense developed a compact laser multimeter that enables users to measure key laser parameters such as wavelength, power, and bandwidth in a single, easy-to-use device. Designed as a plug-and-play solution, the instrument removes the need for multiple complex measurement systems traditionally used in optical laboratories.

By combining precision with usability, the solution addresses a practical challenge faced daily by researchers, engineers, and lab managers: obtaining reliable laser data quickly, accurately, and without extensive setup or training.
