Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., together with its subsidiary NKT Photonics A/S, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yaqumo regarding advanced photonic systems for the industrialization of quantum computing. The MoU was signed in the presence of representatives from the governments of Japan and Denmark.

Under this MoU, the three parties will leverage their respective expertise in photodetectors and imaging systems, laser technologies, and quantum computing hardware for quantum computing to collaboratively engage in the research, development, and industrialization of advanced photonic systems for cold-atom-based quantum computing. In addition, the parties aim to establish a global supply chain to support these efforts.
