FAQs (CMOS) | CCD / CMOS / NMOS image sensors

How should I store resin-sealed image sensors?

What is the difference between the dark output voltage and the output offset voltage of CMOS linear image sensors?

The dark output voltage is a dark current component mainly generated in pixels and increases in proportion to the integration time. The output offset voltage is a reference voltage that is output from the readout circuit (amplifier) and its value is constant, not proportional to the integration time.

Is it necessary to use a CDS circuit to signal-process the video output waveforms of CMOS linear image sensors?

No, it is not necessary to use a CDS circuit to signal-process the video output waveforms. Perform A/D conversion directly. In that case, connect an impedance converting buffer amplifier to the video output terminal and as much as possible do not allow current to flow. As the buffer amplifier, use a high input impedance op amp of JFET input or CMOS input.
