Quantaurus-Tau® Fluorescence lifetime spectrometer

Quantaurus-Tau is a compact system for measuring fluorescence lifetimes in the sub nanosecond to millisecond range.
Operation is simple, just set the sample into the sample chamber, and enter a few conditions on the measurement software to measure the fluorescence lifetime and PL spectrum in a short time with high precision. In a typical measurement, analysis results are obtained in a mere 60 seconds.

Case study

The Institute for Chemical Research, at Kyoto University, is engaged in the synthesis of novel organic compounds and the elucidation of their properties. At this laboratory, research activities focus on the development of organic semiconductors and luminescent materials. These efforts encompass the design, synthesis, structural analysis, integration, and property evaluation of aromatic compounds. The evaluation of aromatic compounds requires a comprehensive set of measurements to clarify their optical and electronic characteristics. Our products are utilized in this laboratory to support these advanced characterization needs.

We interviewed Prof. Hiroko Yamada and Assoc. Prof. Mitsuaki Yamauchi about their research, the background behind their adoption of our products, and their perspectives on future research directions.

To evaluate the organic optoelectronic materials and devices being developed by the Center for Organic Photonics and Electronics Research (OPERA), Kyushu University,  various measurement methods such as photoluminescence(PL) quantum yield measurement and fluorescence lifetime measurement are required. For these evaluations, our Quantaurus series and streak cameras have been introduced.

We interviewed Prof. Chihaya Adachi, Director of the Center, and Assoc. Prof. Hajime Nakanotani about establishing absolute photoluminescence quantum yield measurement methods, the impact of our Quantaurus series on their research, and their prospects for future research.
