当社は、NKT Photonics A/S(以下NKT Photonics社) の買収を完了したことをお知らせします。
NKT Photonics社はフォトニック結晶ファイバー製造技術を保有し、それらの要素技術を活かした3つのレーザ製品群は、その優れた特長により幅広い市場で利用されています。
本買収により、当社グループは、お客さまのニーズに最適なNKT Photonics社のレーザと検出器の組合せによるソリューションの提案が可能となります。
将来大きな成長が見込まれる量子コンピュータには、波長安定性が極めて高く低ノイズ性を有した高出力狭線幅レーザが必要とされており、NKT Photonics社のKoherasはこれらの要望を満たしています。一方当社の高感度カメラやセンサは量子ビットの観察・検出に、空間光位相変調器(LCOS-SLM)は中性原子の位置制御に使用されており、今後、量子技術市場に対し、レーザと検出器、光学製品の包括的な提供をすることができます。
半導体デバイスの3次元実装化に伴い、半導体製造・検査装置にも高精度な3次元計測技術が求められ、広波長帯域で波長可変が可能なNKT Photonics社のSuperKへのニーズが高まっています。今後、広波長帯域化、マルチチャンネル化、高感度化のニーズに応えられる、光センサや計測装置とあわせたソリューション提案を推進していきます。
ハイパースペクトルイメージング市場においては、高輝度、可視から近赤外(400 nm-2500 nm)までの広波長帯域が求められます。さらに、ハロゲンランプを使用した際の発熱の問題もないため、SuperKへのニーズが高まっています。当社独自の化合物半導体を利用したイメージセンサ・カメラを組み合わせたソリューション提案をすることが可能となります。
また、本買収により、当社グループは、レーザと検出器の幅広い設計製造技術を保有することとなります。検出器の視点から次世代のレーザとして何が必要になるか、レーザの視点から今後どのような検出器を設計開発すべきかを知り、より早い高付加価値の製品開発が可能となります。
なお、NKT Photonics社の事業組織は存続し、引き続きお客さまへの優れた製品やソリューションの提供に注力していきます。
