放射線検出モジュール
C12137シリーズは、シンチレータとMPPC (Multi-Pixel Photon Counter)を内蔵した、137Cs (セシウム137)などからのγ線検出を目的とするモジュールです。入射したγ線をシンチレータにて可視光に変換し、MPPCで極微弱な光まで検出して、低エネルギーγ線を高精度に計測することが可能です。信号処理回路やA/D変換回路をコンパクトな筐体に収めており、USBまたはRS-232Cインターフェースに対応しています。本製品には、測定条件の設定、データ取得および保存、グラフ表示などの機能をもつサンプルソフトウェアが付属されています。
測定例 (C12137)
C12137シリーズは、エネルギースペクトルが取得できるためエネルギー弁別が可能です。137Cs が壊変するときには662 keVと32 keV付近にエネルギーをもつγ線が放出されることが知られています。30 keV程度の低エネルギーγ線からエネルギースペクトルを取得することで、そのγ線が137Cs 由来かどうかがわかります。低エネルギーγ線になるほど、シンチレータの発光量が微弱になりますが、高感度のMPPCを用いたC12137シリーズでは、広範囲にわたるγ線検出が可能です。

放射線検出モジュールは、小型の筺体にシンチレータ、受光素子 (MPPC)、信号処理回路、I/F回路などを内蔵しているため、携帯型測定器やインライン測定器に組み込むことが容易です。C12137シリーズは、受光素子であるMPPCが小型・薄型のため全体に占める容積の割合は小さく、シンチレータ容積が支配的になっています。このことは、小型な放射線検出モジュールであっても、高い検出効率を実現していることを意味します。放射線検出モジュールは小型であるため、食品・飲料・海産物検査など、被測定物からの線量が非常に微弱な用途で有利です。このような用途においては、検出器の周囲を鉛で覆い、環境放射線の影響を排除する必要があります。放射線検出モジュールは小型のため、鉛の使用量を削減して装置全体の体積・重量を軽減することができます。

放射線検出モジュールの初期評価用としてサンプルソフトウェアを提供しています。サンプルソフトウェアは、測定条件の設定、データ取得および保存、グラフ表示などの基本機能をもっています。放射線検出モジュールを装置に組み込んで使用する場合、ユーザサイドにて独自のアプリケーションソフトウェアを開発できるように、関数仕様とサンプルソフトウェアのソースコードを提供しています。
