160 nm以下の高エネルギー真空紫外光は、高い除電性能を誇り、製造工程における静電気問題を解決します。
真空紫外光を照射することにより、真空中(減圧下)にある残留原子 / 分子から電子がはじき出て、その原子 / 分子は”+(プラス)”のイオンになります。また、はじき出た電子は他の残留原子 / 分子と結合し”-(マイナス)”のイオンになります。真空紫外光を照射すると照射空間全体で同時多発的に電子・イオンが生成され、その後対象物近くで生成された電子・イオンが静電気に引き寄せられ、静電気を除去します。その他の生成された電子・イオンは元の残留原子 / 分子に戻ります。
放電現象を利用した従来のコロナ放電式除電器の場合、その除電原理より真空中(減圧下)での除電が不可能でした。
VUV Ionizerを真空フランジを介して真空チャンバに接続した上で真空紫外光を照射して真空中(減圧下)にある残留原子 / 分子を直接イオン化することにより、低真空度から高真空度まで対応した確実な除電を可能にします。
真空紫外光の照射空間全体がイオン生成範囲であり、真空紫外光の照射中は常時イオンが生成されているため、高いイオン濃度を実現しています。高イオン濃度による高い除電性能で対象物の静電気を0 V にします。
“+(プラス)”イオンと”-(マイナス)”のバランスが均等であるため、逆帯電が起こりません。また、それぞれのイオン供給量の調整が一切必要ありません。
逆帯電は、生成したイオンにより、対象物に対して逆に静電気を与えてしまう現象です。
対象物近くでも電子・イオンが生成され、その電子・イオンが静電気に引き寄せられて直接静電気を除去するため、送風が不要でパーティクルの発生・舞い上がりやそれらに伴う対象物への悪影響がありません。
