質量分析装置は、「イオン化部」「分離部」「検出部」からなり、そのイオン化方法や分離方法によって、さまざまな種類に分類されます。装置の種類に応じて、内蔵されるデバイスに要求される特長も変わってきます。
浜松ホトニクスでは主に「検出部」の心臓部を担うイオン検出デバイスの開発・製造を中心に、光イオン化用の光源や、ユーザー向け測定サポートツールなど、質量分析に関連するデバイス製品を多岐にわたって開発しています。
(Time Of Flight Mass Spectrometry)
イオン分離の手法として、TOF(Time of Flight)を用いる質量分析です。イオンを電界で加速させることで、質量電荷比に応じて生じる飛行時間の差を測定します。わずかな飛行時間の差を捉えるため、検出器には高速な応答性とタイムジッタの少ない検出器が求められます。
(Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry)
イオン分離の手法として、4本(2本×2組)の平行な電極からなる四重極(Quadrupole)を用いた質量分析です。4本の電極へ供給する高周波電圧によって、共振条件を満たすイオンのみを選別(フィルタリング)します。
(Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry)
ICP-MS(Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry)は、プラズマをイオン源として利用する質量分析です。試料中に含まれるpptレベルの微量元素を定性・定量分析可能な感度に優れた手法です。
Poropareを用いた”転写サンプリング”を実施することで、より簡便・迅速なサンプル前処理を実現します。特に従来では当たり前の薄切という処理を不要とし、質量分析イメージングの適用範囲を大きく広げることができます。
