当社は、細胞の形態情報からCTCを見つけ出すために、細胞1つの内部構造を可視化できる3次元像フローサイトメータの研究開発を行っています。
乳がんの罹患率は増加を続けており、乳がん患者のQOL(Quality of life)向上のためには、早期発見や治療効果の観察などのために用いられる診断計測技術が重要になります。近赤外分光計測は、他の波長に比べて生体透過性が高い700nm~1100nmの近赤外光を用いて生体内の光吸収・散乱特性やヘモグロビン濃度、組織酸素飽和度を非侵襲で測定できる技術であり、乳がんの成長や縮小に伴う変化など、早期発見や薬物療法に対する反応の観察への応用が期待されています。
当社は、「より早期での発見」、「より簡便な経過観察」に役立つ診断計測技術を目指し、乳房計測に特化した光生体計測技術「光マンモグラフィ」の研究を行っています。
白血球の一種である好中球は、自然免疫の最大の担い手として、細菌などの外敵から私たちの身体を守っています。白血球の自然免疫応答時に起こる、二つのイベント(細胞内Ca2+上昇と活性酸素産生)を同時にモニタする技術を確立しました。その結果、当社は「食」が持つ機能性を評価する「抗酸化・抗炎症・自然免疫賦活同時評価細胞試験」の確立に成功しました。
今、新たに極微量血液3μL中に含まれる好中球の活性を簡便に測る手法の開発に取り組んでいます。炎症に大きく関与する好中球の過剰活性をいち早く検出でき、生体内での酸化・抗酸化のバランスが評価可能な本手法は、健康(未病)チェックマーカとしての利用が期待されます。
これまで蓄積した技術を活かして、世界初のミトコンドリア機能計測用のPETプローブの開発に成功しました。開発したオリジナルのPETプローブを用いた生体機能研究を進めるとともに、PETによる薬物評価試験を受託試験として実施しています。

アメリカ食品医薬品局 (Food and Drug Administration)で承認されたアルツハイマー病治療薬の効果を示す指標のひとつに、各患者の脳内アミロイドβの蓄積評価がありますが、その評価手法として脳PET検査が重要な役割を果たすと考えられています。従来の頭部固定タイプの脳PET検査では、頭部の動きによる画質低下を回避できる反面、頭部拘束ストレスに起因するとみられる脳血流や脳神経受容体の変化など、検査結果の正確性に課題がありました。当社が開発した脳PET装置には、計測中に動いてしまっても鮮明なPET画像が得られる体動補正技術など、非拘束での脳PET検査を可能とする技術を搭載しています。また、将来的にPET装置での活用を目指し、AI技術の研究も行っています。
