細胞内で起こる生命現象を解明するため、新しいライブセルイメージング技術の創生を目指しています。主要部品を内製化したフェムト秒パルスレーザは、コストパフォーマンスに優れ、発振器部、増幅器部ともに偏波保持ファイバレーザで構成されているため高安定です。レーザ内の空間伝送部分が少ないために、コンパクトであることを特長としています。この超短パルスレーザを用いて2光子励起顕微鏡を構築し、スフェロイドの蛍光3D画像を取得しました。
植物や藻類など光合成を行う生物は、光合成反応の為のエネルギー(電子)の逆反応により微弱な光を発しています。これは、遅延蛍光と呼ばれ、生体内で電子を伝達する分子一つ一つに対応したフォトンを検出することができます。このフォトンの発光量や時間分布を解析することで、光合成分子の挙動をリアルタイムに捉え、その機能を評価することができます。植物・藻類の生育診断や品種改良への活用が期待されています。

当社では、PACを発現させた培養細胞を用いて、光操作による定量的なcAMP生産のノウハウを蓄積するとともに、使い勝手の良い2種類のPAC改変体を製品化し、販売しています。
