当社では、未だ本質の解明されていない「光」を相手に仕事をしているため、一人ひとりの「創造性」と未知の分野に挑戦する意欲を重要視しています。これは、その人の専攻が理系か文系かは関係ありません。
また、当社では研究・開発・製造の各担当者がそれぞれ独自のテーマを持ち、研究的、あるいは開発的発想で製品開発に携わっています。製造担当者も製造技術だけを磨くのではなく研究・開発的発想でものづくりを行っており、これらを総称して、「全員研究者体制」と呼んでいます。実際、業績に寄与する開発品が製造現場から出ることもあります。
当社では、座学での勉強よりも現場での経験が何よりも勝る教育機会になるという考えを一貫して維持しています。
そのうえで、総合職【総合コース】で入社した場合、半年間かけて電子管事業部、固体事業部、システム事業部、中央研究所をまわり、当社での仕事のスタイルや基礎知識を学ぶとともに、社内の人的ネットワークを構築するための研修を実施しています。
また、休日や時間外を利用した様々な社内教育をラインナップし、これらには自由参加で受講が可能となっています。各自の自主性のもと、自ら求めて学ぶ姿勢・気持ちが重要になります。一例として、英会話・中国語会話につきましては、会社が費用の半分を補助して積極的な参加を推奨しております。
