最大入射光量は、出力振幅電圧 [V]÷光電変換感度 [V/W]でタイプごとに算出されます。ちなみに破壊に至る入射光量は数mW程度と考えられますので、実際に光を入射する際には十分に注意してください。

・最大入射光量を超えていないか。
・増倍率を過剰に上げていないか (C12702/C12703シリーズ)。
増倍率が高すぎると、APDの暗電流が増加したり、APD特有の過剰ノイズが増加して、S/Nが低下します。
APDに外乱光が入射すると外乱光に伴うノイズが出力に現れる場合があります。特に蛍光灯下などで使用されている場合、商用電源ノイズが出力信号に重畳することがあります。できるだけ暗中での使用を推奨します。
また電源はスイッチング電源ではなく、リップルノイズの小さいシリーズ電源を使用してください。なお、改善されない場合には、使用環境についてお近くの営業所までご連絡ください。
C12702/C12703シリーズ、C10508-01は光ファイバの取り付け用として、FC型・SMA型の光ファイバアダプタ (別売)を用意しており、光ファイバの接続が可能です。推奨する光ファイバは、石英コア、コア径 50 μm、クラッド径 125 μmのGI型マルチモード光ファイバです。C5658は、光ファイバの接続はできません。接続できるようにするためには、カスタム対応が必要です。
使用されるAPDモジュールに適した市販の安定化電源をご紹介します。お近くの営業所までお問い合わせください。
APDモジュールの感度波長に合わせたLD・LEDなどの光源を使用してください。なお事前にAPDへ入射する光量を把握するために、パワーモニタで光量測定することを推奨します。
直接接続することはお勧めしません。A/Dコンバータの入力インピーダンスの影響を受けて、APDモジュールの特性を発揮できない可能性があります。
カスタム対応によって、搭載するAPD、帯域や感度などの電気的特性を変更をすることができます (有償)。
C12702/C12703シリーズにおいては、増倍率調整用トリマにてAPDの増倍率を変更することが可能です。ただし、このトリマには目盛りやストッパー機構がなく、何回転でも回せますので、回す前に基準光を入射して、その出力を把握しておいて初期状態に戻せるようにしておくことを推奨します。なお、増倍率調整用トリマで調整できる増倍率の範囲は、1倍からブレークダウンする数百倍以上までです。
